Jekyll & Hyde

Robert Louis Stevenson’s tale of divided identity becomes a gothic pop-rock musical at Actors’ Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre in Coral Gables. Running Wednesday through Sunday from October 7 through November 1, the production follows Dr. Henry Jekyll as an experiment meant to separate good from evil unleashes his violent alter ego, Edward Hyde.

Conceived for the stage by Frank Wildhorn and Steve Cuden, with a book and lyrics by Leslie Bricusse and music by Wildhorn, Jekyll & Hyde pairs psychological suspense with a score that includes “This Is the Moment” and “Someone Like You.” The story moves between ambition, obsession, romance and the consequences of Jekyll’s attempt to control the darker side of human nature.

The production is recommended for ages 13 and older and contains theatrical violence, dark psychological themes, mature suggestive content, strobe lighting and theatrical smoke effects.
