LeNard Rutledge Quartet
Aug 03, 2025
Starting: 6:00 PM
Spend your Sunday evening listening to the soulful, resonant vocals of LeNard Rutledge, a Miami native often compared to the legendary Lou Rawls. Performing with his quartet, Rutledge brings a deep connection to the city’s musical heritage, shaped by early roots at St. Agnes Episcopal Church in Overtown and a career that began as a drummer at Miami Central Senior High. After honing his vocal craft in North Carolina clubs during college, he launched his professional singing career in 1997 with the Melton Mustafa Orchestra and was later named Best Jazz Artist by Miami New Times in 2006.
The LeNard Rutledge Quartet takes the stage on Sunday, August 3 at 6:00 p.m. in Lummus Park as part of the Ocean Drive Promenade Music Series, a weekly concert presented by the Ocean Drive Association. The performance takes place on the lawn between 14th Street and 14th Place. Guests are encouraged to bring picnic blankets or lawn chairs. In case of rain, the concert will be moved indoors to The Betsy Hotel.
The Ocean Drive Promenade Music Series is supported by The City of Miami Beach, the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Ocean Drive Association. All concerts are free and open to the public.
