Love Tarantino soundtracks and eclectic music? The Arsht Center presents genre-bending Miami act Gold Dust Lounge, as part of its Live on the Plaza outdoor concert series on Thursday, April 11.
Led by guitarist-composer Russell Mofsky, Gold Dust Lounge blends a fascinating mix of genres, from the smooth sounds of surfy jazz to the cool vibes of lounge noir, and even some punk energy for good measure. Their live performances are dynamic and no two shows are exactly alike.
Described as “mod exotica,” "surf noir" and "shoegaze Americana," Gold Dust Lounge's music evokes the atmosphere of films by Quentin Tarantino, David Lynch and Ennio Morricone. Imagine a sonic journey through a cool record collector's garage, filled with vintage instruments, classic records and a touch of pop culture nostalgia. Their self-titled album was nominated for Best Instrumental Album by the Independent Music Awards in 2019.
