Explore Miami's cultural diversity through the eyes of three local teens in Brévo Theatre's Me & My Miami.
This workshop production, part of Brévo Theatre's Freshly Rooted series, takes the stage on Saturday, May 18 at 3:00 p.m. at The African Heritage Cultural Arts Center.
The show follows three high school students, Rosa, Faquan and Thomas, as they navigate themes of self-discovery, family ties and the importance of truth. Selected to showcase their art at the Dade County Farmers Market Arts Festival, these talented youth celebrate Miami's diverse music and cuisine while sharing their personal stories. As the performance unfolds, unexpected revelations and family secrets emerge, leading to a powerful and healing experience for all.
Me & My Miami isn't just a performance; it's an immersive journey. Vivid colors, music and movement come together to create a vibrant celebration of Miami's multicultural identity. The audience is encouraged to participate by singing and dancing to familiar and new tunes.
Following the performance, a talk-back session with the director will be held from 4:30 - 5:00 p.m.
Sponsored in part by Miami-Dade County Cultural Affairs and Florida Arts & Culture.
