Miami Goombay Festival

Bahamian culture and Caribbean traditions take center stage during this long-running street festival in Coconut Grove. The event takes place June 5 through 7 along Grand Avenue, spanning from SW 37th Avenue to Elizabeth Street. As one of South Florida’s longest-running cultural celebrations, the festival highlights the heritage of the neighborhood’s historic Bahamian community.

Founded in 1977, the Miami Goombay Festival is known for its mix of live music, food vendors and community programming. A central feature of the event is Junkanoo, a traditional Bahamian procession with drumming, costumes and dance that brings energy to the streets throughout the weekend. Attendees can also expect a range of culinary offerings, including Bahamian dishes such as conch fritters and conch salad, alongside performances by local and regional artists.
