MOCA Makers: Poetry with Lysz Flo and Beadmaking

Explore poetry, beadmaking and visual art in a hands-on workshop led by local artists at the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami. MOCA Makers Summer Series: Poetry with Lysz Flo and Beadmaking takes place Saturday, June 14, offering a multidisciplinary experience inspired by the work of exhibiting artist Vickie Pierre.

The afternoon begins with a guided tour of Pierre’s exhibition, followed by a poetry session with Miami-based writer Lysz Flo and a beading workshop led by artist Fola Akinde. Part of MOCA’s ongoing Makers series, the program invites participants to engage directly with South Florida’s creative community through activities rooted in the themes of current exhibitions.

Admission includes museum entry, all workshop materials and instruction. Advance registration is recommended, as space is limited and seats will only be held for 15 minutes after the session begins. Discounts are available for those registering for all three summer series workshops.
