From: noon to 2:00 PM
Discover a rare pocket of native tropical forest in the heart of the city during a guided trail tour through Simpson Park, followed by a cyanotype printing workshop led by biophilic designer Lilian Mustelier.
This installment of the Natural Areas Division: Presenter Workshop Series, presented by the City of Miami Parks & Recreation Department, takes place Saturday, June 7 and offers a chance to explore one of the last remnants of the Brickell Hammock. Designated as an Old Forest Growth Community, Simpson Park preserves over eight acres of tropical hardwood hammock, home to more than 160 plant species—including 15 endangered and 9 threatened varieties—such as Wild Cinnamon, Silver Palm and the Gumbo Limbo.
