Experience an evening of live jazz celebrating the legacy of Josephine Baker as vocalist Nicole Yarling takes the stage at The Betsy–South Beach. Nicole Yarling sings Josephine Baker takes place Thursday, June 19 as part of a Juneteenth and Black Music Month activation highlighting the freedom of artistic expression through performances by local and Caribbean artists.
Yarling, a Brooklyn-born vocalist and violinist, is known for her rich, expressive voice and commanding presence in the jazz community. A protégé of the late Joe Williams, she is also an Assistant Professor of Music at Florida Memorial University and a lecturer at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. In addition to her performance career, she is a dedicated educator and mentor, widely respected for her contributions to jazz and music education.
