Oolite Arts Conversations: Cuauhtémoc Medina
Nov 12, 2026
From: 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
International curator, critic and historian Cuauhtémoc Medina closes the 2026 Oolite Arts Conversations series with a public talk on contemporary art and its intersections with history, politics and civic life. Held Thursday, November 12 at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex, the free program offers a Miami audience the opportunity to hear Medina reflect on current issues shaping the international art world.
Medina has held curatorial positions at Tate Modern and Museo Universitario Arte Contemporáneo in Mexico City, and has organized major exhibitions including Manifesta 9, the 12th Shanghai Biennale and the Mexican Pavilion at the 2009 Venice Biennale. His writing and curatorial work have placed particular emphasis on artistic practices and perspectives from Latin America and the Global South.
Organized by Oolite Arts Vice President of Programs and Artistic Director Rina Carvajal, Oolite Arts Conversations provides a forum for artists, curators and cultural thinkers to exchange ideas around contemporary visual art. The November program takes place in the Proscenium Theatre, with free admission and onsite parking.
