Explore the relationship between geography and identity through the lens of fine art photography at the Lowe Art Museum. The Opening Reception for Translating Place: Brooklyn - New Mexico - Miami, Photographs by Claudio Nolasco takes place on Thursday, May 1 and features the work of Claudio Nolasco, a post-documentary photographer and faculty member at the University of Miami.
The evening begins with a lecture by Nolasco, who will share insights into his artistic process and the development of his photographic practice across three distinct locations—Brooklyn, New Mexico and Miami. A Q&A session led by Assistant Curator Dr. John Witty will follow, offering context for the images on view and the narratives they explore.
Admission is $15. This event marks the official opening of the exhibition and invites attendees to engage directly with the artist’s exploration of place and memory.
