Sep 18, 2025
From: 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
The Lowe Art Museum hosts the opening reception for Petah Coyne: How Much A Heart Can Hold, a survey of the celebrated contemporary sculptor’s decades-long career.
Organized into three sections, Women’s Work, Women Obscured and Transformed, and Women’s Relationships, the exhibition reflects Coyne’s enduring exploration of feminine identity and her reverence for overlooked female writers and historical figures. The reception offers a first look at this immersive body of work, accompanied by a fully illustrated scholarly catalogue.
Petah Coyne is internationally recognized for her innovative use of materials, from wax, silk flowers and taxidermy to steel and glass, in sculptures and installations that explore memory, identity and transformation. Her work has been featured in major museum collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Guggenheim Museum.
