Oscillation: Beekeeping Sculptural Workshop with Camila Young
Jun 27, 2026
From: 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Artmaking and pollinator conservation meet in an outdoor sculptural workshop at Deering Estate. Oscillation: Beekeeping Sculptural Workshop with Camila Young takes place Saturday, June 27, at the Deering Estate Pump House, where participants will create hanging sculptures that also function as bee hotels for solitary pollinators. The hands-on workshop explores themes of tides, flow and ecological connection through locally harvested bamboo and biodegradable twine.
Led by environmental artist Camila Young, the program invites participants to consider how sculpture can support both creative expression and habitat-building. Young’s practice explores the intersection of climate advocacy, accessibility and cultural engagement, using tactile, visual and multisensory experiences to encourage dialogue around environmental care.
The workshop takes place outdoors unless weather requires a change in plans. Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather and bring a hat, sunblock, water and shears. Tickets are $20 and available online only, with a discount available for Deering Estate Foundation members.
