Overtown Legacy Series: Carole Ann Taylor & Angel Perez Trio

Jazz vocals meet piano, upright bass and drums in two performances celebrating Miami’s musical heritage. Carole Ann Taylor joins the Angel Perez Trio on Saturday, November 21 and Thursday, December 10 in The Piano Bar at The Betsy – South Beach in Miami Beach. The performances are part of the hotel’s Overtown Legacy Series.

A longtime presence in Miami’s jazz community, Taylor brings an expressive, improvisational approach to her performances. Miami-born pianist Perez is a graduate of the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. His trio includes drummer Brandon Lee Lewis, whose credits span international jazz performances and Broadway productions, and Cuban American upright bassist Renée Cruz, a Miami native who earned her master’s degree at The Juilliard School.

There is no cover charge or minimum purchase. Guests may listen in The Piano Bar or reserve a table at LT Steak & Seafood for dinner during the performance. The Betsy’s live jazz programming receives support through The Betsy Community Fund at The Miami Foundation, the Jorge Pérez Family Foundation’s CreARTE program and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau.
