Page to Stage: From Page Turners to Showstoppers
Nov 01, 2026
Starting: 7:30 PM
Literary characters and stories move from the bookshelf to the concert hall in a program by the Frost Musical Theatre Ensemble at UM Gusman Concert Hall. Presented Saturday, November 7, as part of Frost Music Live’s 2026-2027 season, the ensemble performs under the direction of Frank Ragsdale.
The program traces the relationship between literature and musical theatre through selections from stage works adapted from classic and contemporary books. Featured musicals draw from a wide range of sources, including Show Boat, Les Misérables, Little Women, The Secret Garden, The Phantom of the Opera, Oliver!, Into the Woods, Camelot, The Bridges of Madison County, Carrie, Big Fish and The King and I.
Together, the selections highlight how novels, plays and other written works are reshaped through song, character and theatrical performance. Admission is free with RSVP.
