Shimza, Joe Kay & Joezi

Afro-tech, soulful house and global club sounds converge at Club Space with South African DJ and producer Shimza alongside Joe Kay and Joezi. Taking place Friday, September 18, the late-night lineup brings together three selectors whose sets move through different corners of Afro-influenced electronic music. The event begins at 11 p.m. and is limited to guests ages 21 and older.

Shimza has emerged as one of South Africa’s leading figures in Afro-tech and house, building an international career while developing platforms for the genre through his KUNYE projects. His 2025 collaboration “Fire Fire” with Kasango and AR/CO received the Afrohouse Song of the Year honor at the 2026 Electronic Dance Music Awards in Miami, and his recent releases include the 2026 Sunset in Pretoria EP.

Joe Kay is the co-founder and CEO of Soulection, the Los Angeles-based music platform known for connecting R&B, hip-hop and electronic sounds from around the world. His recent sets and Soulection Radio programs have increasingly incorporated amapiano, Afro-house, batida, 3-step and deep house; earlier in 2026, he recorded a Soulection 15th-anniversary DJ mix at Club Space. Joezi rounds out the lineup with a melodic Afro-house approach built around percussion, vocals and expansive electronic textures, with releases including the widely circulated “Amathole.”
