Silk Screen Monoprinting Workshop
This event has passed.
Explore the expressive possibilities of printmaking in a full-day workshop that merges monoprinting with screen printing techniques at Oolite Arts on Miami Beach.
Held Saturday, July 19, Silk Screen Monoprinting Workshop: Fluid Marks Through Mesh introduces participants to a dynamic hybrid process that blends drawing, painting and printmaking. Led by artist and educator Jacoub Reyes, the workshop focuses on using water-soluble crayons and screen printing inks to create layered, one-of-a-kind prints. Attendees will work directly on mesh screens, experimenting with stencils, washes and color interactions to develop unique visual textures. All materials are provided; participants are encouraged to bring sketches or ideas for inspiration.
Originally from Florida, Jacoub Reyes is a multidisciplinary artist whose work explores themes of identity, ecology and social engagement. With a background in drawing and printmaking, his projects have been featured by institutions such as the Latinx Project, Ma’s House, UCSF and Alfred University. Reyes is currently an Oolite Arts Live.In.Art Resident, Artistic Director for the City of Boynton Beach’s Quantum Eco-Park and President of the Florida Printmakers Society.
This workshop is open to all levels. A 30-minute break will be included. Advance registration is required.
