Strung Together. Listening for Hope
Nov 19, 2026 - Nov 21, 2026
Daily through Nov 21, 2026
Starting: 8:00 PM
A multimedia tribute to Jane Goodall makes listening a shared act, pairing blindfolded audience members with partners who guide their encounters with sound, scent and touch. Presented by the Foundation for Emerging Technologies and Arts, Strung Together. Listening for Hope runs November 19-21 at 630 Lincoln Road in Miami Beach.
Created and directed by composer Juraj Kojš, the work marks the first anniversary of Goodall’s passing. Her poetry, including Prayer for World Peace, guides a four-part exploration of nature’s resilience, human intellect, young people’s potential and the enduring human spirit. The composition uses a musical scale derived from Goodall’s name.
New York’s Bergamot String Quartet and the Frost Electronic Music Ensemble perform live, with sound distributed through multiple channels around the audience and visual projections by Dimitry Chamy. Participants work in pairs, with one person blindfolded while the other uses ecological materials and simple technologies to guide sensory exploration. The format emphasizes cooperation and the relationship between people and the natural world.
The November 19 preview is pay-what-you-can, with a suggested $5 donation. Performances on November 20 and 21 cost $25++ for general admission or $10++ for students and seniors. Attendance is limited to 30 people each night.
