Summer with the Symphony: Moonlight Serenade
May 22, 2025
From: 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM
Experience an evening of expressive chamber music as three acclaimed musicians interpret a program inspired by the elegance and intimacy of a moonlit night. Set within the historic Coral Gables Congregational Church, this concert features works by Mendelssohn, Schubert and Schoenfield, performed by violinist Huifang Chen, cellist Christopher Glansdorp, and pianist Tao Lin.
Summer with the Symphony: Moonlight Serenade takes place on Thursday, May 22 and opens South Florida Symphony Orchestra’s three-part summer chamber music series. The program includes Mendelssohn’s lyrical Piano Trio No. 1 in D minor, Schubert’s serene Notturno in E-flat major and Schoenfield’s lively Café Music, a jazz-tinged trio that blends classical structure with rhythmic flair.
After the performance, guests are invited to stay for a meet-and-greet with the musicians. Coral Gables residents can receive 50% off single ticket purchases for this performance with the discount code GABLES ($17.50 + fees), though this offer does not apply to the three-concert package.
Upcoming performances in the Summer with the Symphony series include Romantic Revelry on June 12 and The Titans on July 24.
