SuperBlue Miami: Sensory Friendly Sessions
This event has passed.
Experience art exhibitions in a calmer, more accessible environment designed specifically for visitors with sensory sensitivities or neurodiversity. The Sensory Friendly Sessions takes place on Sunday, April 13, at Superblue Miami, marking the second anniversary of this specialized program during Autism Awareness Month.
This free event features adjustments to the standard exhibition experience, including modified lighting, reduced sound levels and limited capacity to create a more comfortable atmosphere. Attendees can access complimentary sensory kits containing sunglasses, earplugs, sensory toys, a bilingual social story, a sensory map and optional emotion/assistance cards.
The 50,000-square-foot art center provides designated quiet spaces for visitors who may need a break. These areas are highlighted on sensory maps available both digitally on the lobby screen and in print format at the venue.
Located in Allapattah, Superblue is accessible via the Santa Clara Metrorail Station on the Orange Line. Paid hourly parking is available on surrounding streets using the Paybyphone App or website.
Visitors are advised to wear comfortable shoes for navigating the expansive facility and to bring a sweater as temperatures vary between different exhibition areas. Advance reservations are required and can be made by emailing concierge@superblue.com.
