Explore the diverse flavors of African cuisine at A Taste of AfriKin, on Sunday, September 1 at the Scott Galvin Community Center. Showcasing the culinary talent of the Black community, this culinary affair offers an evening filled with flavors from Africa, the Caribbean and the African American community. Prepare to taste your way through an array of dishes from countries like Senegal, Ghana, Nigeria, Ethiopia and several Caribbean nations, including Barbados, Trinidad, Guyana, Jamaica and Haiti, along with soul food from the United States. A Taste of Afrikin aims to dispel common misconceptions about African food and highlight its global impact.
Highlights include a culinary exhibition of traditional and fusion African dishes, expert talks providing insights from professionals in history, sociology and cultural studies, and cultural performances blending music and art. Additionally, a local business showcase will provide a platform for black-owned food and beverage enterprises.
