Explore the visual history of Hip Hop through the Museum of Graffiti’s immersive education exhibition The Art of Hip Hop. Presented by the museum’s founders, The Art of Hip Hop is dedicated to spotlighting the visual creatives behind Hip Hop culture such as photographers, album cover artists, graffiti writers and logo designers. The exhibit debuts during Miami Art Week with a dynamic lineup of programming and the opening of its inaugural exhibition From the Bronx to the Beach, a showcase of rare memorabilia from seminal figures in the scene along with photographic works by famed Hip Hop photographers such as Janette Beckman, Mike Miller, Henry Chalfant, to name a few, and Hip Hop album covers by Cey Adams, Eric Haze, Slick, Kaws, and more. Additionally, the exhibit spotlights Miami’s own Hip Hop history captured through the lens of photographers Derick G. And Esdras T. Thelusma.
To celebrate its debut during Miami Art Week, The Art of Hip Hop in collaboration with StockX will feature curated programming that includes talks, a sneaker customization station, an experiential Mi Campo Artist Lounge, tours, DJ sets and more. The event lineup takes place from December 5 through December 10. Check out the full schedule to plan your visit.
