The Bass Dialogues With Sarah Crowner
Sep 25, 2025
From: 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM
Artist Sarah Crowner joins curator James Voorhies for a public conversation exploring abstraction, materiality and the dialogue between contemporary and modern works. The talk coincides with the opening of Faire Foyer: Sarah Crowner in Dialogue with Etel Adnan, a newly commissioned exhibition at The Bass on Miami Beach that places Crowner’s sculptural and spatial practice in conversation with Adnan’s monumental ceramic mural.
Part of The Bass Dialogues series, the program highlights how geometry, gesture and landscape shape both the exhibition environment and the viewer’s perception. Complimentary admission is available with RSVP, with seating on a first-come, first-served basis.
Sarah Crowner (b. 1974, Philadelphia) lives in Brooklyn. Her multidisciplinary practice spans painting, sculpture, installation and set design, often merging sharp geometry with handmade elements. Through this interplay, her work investigates how individual components form larger compositions, pointing to an expanded field of painting.
