On Tuesday, October 8, from 8:30 a.m. to noon, United for Change: Miami’s Forum on Climate, Community, and Housing will take place at HistoryMiami Museum as part of the Florida Climate Week event lineup. Hosted by the University of Miami's Office of Civic and Community Engagement, this morning symposium will present findings from a two-year initiative on climate gentrification in South Florida. Key stakeholders, including advocates, policymakers, developers and architects, will gather to discuss equitable solutions to the region’s housing and climate challenges. Opening remarks will be delivered by Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and Maria Escorcia of JP Morgan Chase. The forum will also feature national perspectives from HUD’s Diane Shelley and Lisa Rice of the National Fair Housing Alliance. Participants will engage in roundtable discussions to explore strategies for addressing the impacts of climate gentrification.
