WALLCAST® Concert: Denève Prokofiev's Violin

Two violin concertos spanning nearly two decades of Sergei Prokofiev’s career anchor an all-Prokofiev program featuring violinist James Ehnes and the New World Symphony Fellows. The free outdoor concert takes place Saturday, November 21 at SoundScape Park in Miami Beach. Performing both concertos in one evening, Ehnes traces the evolution of the composer’s violin writing during his years away from Russia.
New World Symphony Artistic Director Stéphane Denève leads the program, with NWS Conducting Fellow Ziwei Ma conducting Symphony No. 1, “Classical.” The repertoire also includes the Suite from The Love for Three Oranges, bringing together Prokofiev’s lyricism, wit and rhythmic energy.
The performance will be broadcast live from the New World Center onto its 7,000-square-foot exterior projection wall with accompanying outdoor sound. Guests can bring a blanket or lawn chair and pack a picnic to enjoy during the concert. Admission is free and no ticket is required.
