West Little River Marching Band

Percussion takes center stage as the West Little River Marching Band fills the Miami Book Fair with its dynamic rhythms and youthful energy.

Run by the Miami-based nonprofit Young Musicians Unite (YMU), the ensemble offers students in grades 6–12 hands-on training in rhythm, coordination and teamwork through a percussion-focused program. Featuring snares, bass drums, cymbals and tenors, the band’s high-energy performances highlight the discipline, confidence and collaboration that music education fosters.

The West Little River Marching Band performs at Off the Shelf at Miami Dade College’s Wolfson Campus on Friday, November 21, as part of the Miami Book Fair lineup.
