Women's History Month Concert
Mar 29, 2026
From: 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
An evening of global song honors women’s creativity and resilience at the historic Deering Estate.
Women’s History Month Concert takes place Sunday, March 29, featuring a performance by Artist-in-Residence Susana Behar and her ensemble. Through a rich and diverse repertoire of songs in Spanish, English, French, Portuguese, Ladino and more, Behar celebrates iconic female singers and composers from around the world while highlighting the strength and artistic contributions of women across cultures.
Behar is a Miami-based vocalist whose work spans Sephardic music and Cuban and South American folk traditions, and she has performed internationally in North and South America, Israel and Japan. Her performance style connects traditional music with storytelling and cultural history.
The concert also features Miami-based guitarist, composer and educator Michel Gonzalez, Cuban percussionist Michael Font, Cuban-born flutist and composer Magela Herrera, and Venezuelan bassist and arranger Elvis Martinez — all bringing their unique musical voices to the program.
Tickets are $20. Proceeds support the Deering Estate’s cultural arts programming, presented with support from the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners, and The Deering Estate Foundation, Inc.
