As the weather warms up in July, so does Greater Miami’s calendar of events, setting the area ablaze with the largest hip-hop festival in the world, exciting art happenings and not one, but two amazing dinosaur-themed events. Here are just a few of the not-to-be-missed July events in Greater Miami.

Miami Spa Specials: July 1 - 31

Located at the Ice Palace Studios and using state-of-the-art, 360-degree projection and virtual reality technology, the exhibit transports audiences into Van Gogh’s world of paintings, thoughts and words. The famed master’s awe-inspiring work creates a mesmerizing hour-long experience that’s sure to leave a lasting impression on visitors.

“Jurassic Garden: A Prehistoric Adventure” at Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden, Now Through August 1

Jurassic Garden: A Prehistoric Adventure is a family-friendly event at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden through August 1. See the gardens like never before, with realistic, life-sized models of dinosaurs from the Jurassic era. These towering creatures are surrounded by the garden’s collection of cycads, ferns and flowering plants that were part of the dinosaurs’ world 65 million years ago and still exist today. Enjoy tours and interactive experiences as you view these fascinating dinosaurs in the exquisite gardens. Adult tickets are $24.95, and tickets for children ages 6-17 are $11.95. “Pterosaurs: Flight in the Age of Dinosaurs,” Now Through September 6

Interact with dinosaurs like never before in the latest exhibit at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science, which tells the story of the largest flying animals that ever lived. Discover life-sized models of these amazing creatures, as well as interactive flight simulators where you can pretend you’re a pterosaur soaring over a remarkable digital landscape. Pterosaurs: Flight in the Age of Dinosaurs is included in regular museum admission, which is $29.95 for adults and $21.95 for children ages 3-11. Get Outside with Freedom Week, July 1 – 7

Freedom Week is a new week-long sales tax holiday across Florida. Hit the stores July 1-7 to stock up, tax-free, on tickets to live music events, museums and performances, as well as sporting supplies, camping gear and other items related to outdoor activities.

“Boys Will Be Boys” at the Sandrell Rivers Theater, July 10

The Sandrell Rivers Theater presents famed choreographer Randolph Ward’s “Boys Will Be Boys” on July 10. A gripping commentary about American masculinity and boyhood, the piece addresses the toxic cultural norms that shape male youth in our society. This powerful hour-long piece is told through a multicultural cast as Ward and the dancers promote an important social dialogue and create a night to be remembered.

Miami Swim Week, July 6 – 11

Swim Week returns to Miami Beach this year, bringing exciting summer fashion events at several locations. Highlights include Miss Bikini United States and the Splash Lounge.

Optimist International Junior Golf Championship, July 14 – 29

For more than 30 years, Optimist International has supported junior golf on the local, national and international levels through the Optimist International Junior Golf Championship. More than 600 top junior golfers representing 27 countries will tee off from July 14-29 at the Trump National Doral, Miami resort. Come watch golf stars of the future play on four championship courses.

Rolling Loud Festival, July 23 – 25

The Rolling Loud Festival will hit Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens from July 23-25. This amazing event features the best-of-the-best in the hip-hop genre, including Post Malone, Kodak Black and Lil Baby. Showcasing both established and up-and-coming artists, the Rolling Loud Festival claims the title of largest hip-hop festival in the world.

Events at The Deering Estate, July 23 & 31

Built in the 1920s, the Deering Estate is a local treasure that hosts frequent events that belong on your calendar. At the Moonrise Photography event on July 23, you can take Instagram-worthy shots of the full moon rising over Biscayne Bay. On July 31, catch pianist, singer and music educator Fanni Sárközy’s fabulous cabaret act.

International Ballet Festival of Miami, July 24 – August 15

If you admire the perfect lines of ballet dancers as they combine grace and athleticism, then be sure to add the International Ballet Festival of Miami to your calendar. Since 1993, this event has earned rave reviews and firmly established Greater Miami’s place in the world of ballet. The festival, which runs from July 24 through August 15, features 20 ballet companies from across the globe, a dance film series, and master classes and workshops.
