Senior Group Sales Manager - The Goodtime Hotel

Position Overview
The Sales Manager Level III is responsible for effectively soliciting and managing accounts within assigned market segments. This role focuses on prospecting, developing, and closing business within an assigned territory to drive hotel revenue growth and support overall sales objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend daily Highgate Hotel Business Review (HHBR) meetings.
- Develop a working knowledge of hotel operations including Food & Beverage, Guest Services, and Reservations.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of company sales policies and SOPs, ensuring adherence across the sales team.
- Meet or exceed established sales and solicitation goals.
- Operate within the established sales department expense budget.
- Participate in required M.O.D. and Saturday office coverage as scheduled.
- Initiate and follow up on all leads, maintaining an active solicitation program.
- Monitor production of top accounts and evaluate market trends within assigned segments.
- Maintain consistent communication with existing accounts based on Account Coverage Program guidelines.
- Invite clients for hotel entertainment, lunches, tours, and site inspections.
- Support special promotions such as direct sales initiatives, parties, and sales blitzes.
- Assist with preparing required reports accurately and on time.
- Conduct professional, detailed site inspections highlighting key property benefits.
- Utilize the property’s computerized sales management system to manage and track business (entering leads, blocking space, building accounts, and generating reports).
- Meet and greet onsite contacts and maintain strong client relationships.
- Abide by Prime Selling Time (PST).
- Build and strengthen networking opportunities through community and professional associations.
- Review meeting planner evaluations with the Director of Sales and follow up on any concerns.
- Handle inquiries as part of the Inquiry Day Program.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive hotel sales experience, OR:
- 4-year college degree with at least 2 years of related experience, OR:
- 2-year college degree with at least 3 years of related experience.
- Valid driver’s license in the applicable state.
- Proficiency in Windows, company-approved spreadsheets, and word processing software.
- Ability to work long hours when necessary.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds frequently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with all levels of employees and guests.
- Excellent listening skills and ability to clarify concerns raised by guests and employees.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Professional and service-oriented approach in all interactions.
- Commitment to attending required meetings and trainings.
- Maintain consistent attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards.
- Maintain high personal grooming standards and wear nametags as required.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and evaluate complex data to meet objectives.
