A Choral Christmas: Traditions in Song
Dec 05, 2025
From: 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM
Sacred motets, carols and contemporary choral works come together in a holiday program featuring the FIU Concert Choir and University Singers. The repertoire spans Renaissance settings by Victoria and Hassler, modern works by Sandström and Tavener, and seasonal favorites arranged by Handel, Biebl and others.
Highlighting the global reach of Christmas traditions, the evening includes Spanish villancicos, German and English carols, and contemporary American arrangements. Audience sing-alongs add to the festive spirit, with selections ranging from Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming to Joy to the World and a medley of seasonal standards. A Choral Christmas: Traditions in Song takes place Friday, December 5 at the Herbert and Nicole Wertheim Performing Arts Center.
