Jan 30, 2027
Starting: 8:00 PM
Viennese classical traditions come to life at the Adrienne Arsht Center with a program of symphonic works and dance-inspired compositions performed by The Cleveland Orchestra. The concert takes place Saturday, January 30, as part of The Cleveland Orchestra in Miami series, presented in partnership with the Arsht Center.
Led by conductor Franz Welser-Möst, the program opens with Schubert’s Symphony No. 6, followed by a selection of works by Johann Strauss Jr. and Josef Strauss. The repertoire includes overtures, waltzes, polkas and stage music drawn from operettas such as The Carnival in Rome, A Night in Venice and The Gypsy Baron, reflecting the musical culture of 19th-century Vienna.
Presented in a concert hall setting, the performance highlights the interplay between symphonic composition and dance forms, offering a program rooted in the elegance and social traditions of the Viennese musical scene.
