An Evening with Daniel Rivero
Oct 09, 2025
From: 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Gain insight into one of Florida’s most consequential civil rights battles during an evening with journalist Daniel Rivero at Books & Books in Coral Gables.
Taking place Thursday, October 9, An Evening with Daniel Rivero explores the story behind Just Freedom: Inside Florida's Decades-Long Voting Rights Battle. This investigative account traces the long road to the passage of Amendment 4 in 2018, which restored voting rights to people with past felony convictions, and examines the political and systemic barriers that have stalled its full implementation. Blending historical context with on-the-ground reporting, Rivero’s book captures the people and policies that shaped this pivotal movement.
This event is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase at the event.
