An Evening with Stephanie Elizondo Griest

Books & Books in Coral Gables hosts an evening with award-winning author and journalist Stephanie Elizondo Griest, who will discuss her latest book Art Above Everything: One Woman's Global Exploration of the Joys and Torments of a Creative Life. She will be joined in conversation by Tiffany Madera, Creative Director and Founder of Hanan Arts.

In her newest work, Elizondo Griest reflects on the sacrifices and rewards of dedicating one’s life to art, weaving her own story with insights from women artists around the world. From Indian dance villages and Rwandan theaters to Cuban studios and Icelandic literary circles, the book captures the determination, resilience and passion of creators working across borders and traditions.

Elizondo Griest is the author of six books and has written for publications including The New York Times, The Washington Post and Oxford American. Her writing has earned honors such as the Margolis Award for Social Justice Reporting and two Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism prizes.
