Support sustainability, share resources and connect with nature during a morning of hands-on activities in the heart of Little Havana.
The Back to School Cleanup, Things Swap and Nature Workshop takes place Saturday, August 23 at Riverside Park. Part of the Miami Community ResilientSea Project, this family-friendly event invites participants to help beautify the neighborhood, swap gently used school supplies and toys with The Things Lab, and take part in a creative nature workshop led by Buenezas.
The day begins with a community cleanup, followed by a guided session exploring local plants, making natural inks and creating botanical art. Guests are encouraged to bring unwrapped items to exchange during the swap, reducing waste while supporting fellow families as the school year begins. Complimentary local bites will be provided, and participants will receive a reusable gift set from Debris Free Oceans. Cleanup supplies are provided; comfortable shoes and a refillable water bottle are recommended.
