Peruvian dance, Andean-influenced music and a hands-on weaving workshop come together at Normandy Fountain in Miami Beach for an evening of Hispanic cultural programming. Presented by the City of Miami Beach OnStage! program on Thursday, September 17, the event helps mark the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month with live performance, dance and participatory activities.
Traditional Peruvian dance ensemble Sumaj Tusuy performs alongside Rum and Coke, with DJ Kumi contributing music drawing from the Andes and beyond. Artist Lucia Morales leads a textile weaving workshop, adding a visual arts component to the evening.
The outdoor gathering is designed as an interactive community event, with attendees invited to take part in the activities and dancing throughout the night.
