Bal Harbour Shops World Cup Installation
Jun 10, 2026 - Jun 28, 2026
An oversized soccer ball installation brings art, sport and public participation to Bal Harbour Shops during the FIFA World Cup season. Bal Harbour Shops World Cup Installation runs June 10 through June 28 in the Center Courtyard, presented through a partnership between Bal Harbour Shops and Bal Harbour Village. The activation features a large-scale work by Jon Paul Wheatley, a multidisciplinary artist and founder of 12 Pentagons, known for transforming soccer balls into handcrafted storytelling objects.
The installation is inspired by Wheatley’s “Badly Drawn Ball” concept, which invites imperfect, hand-drawn soccer ball designs submitted from around the world. Visitors can take part in the project through an interactive iPad station, adding their own “badly drawn” ball design to the global collection. A dedicated monitor will also show Wheatley’s creative process and craftsmanship.
The experience includes a curated retail component with ball kits and collectible keepsakes. Access members will receive first access to purchase Wheatley’s limited-edition, one-of-a-kind art balls. Set in the Center Courtyard, the installation positions Bal Harbour as a cultural stop during one of the world’s most watched sporting events.
