Life Time Miami Marathon and Half
Jan 25, 2026
Miami’s biggest endurance event of the year returns January 25, 2026, with the Life Time Miami Marathon & Half. Nearly 20,000 runners from all 50 states and more than 80 countries will descend upon Greater Miami & Miami Beach to race in both the 26.2-mile marathon and 13.1-mile half marathon. With a flat, USTAF-certified course that winds its way through the destination’s most scenic neighborhoods, the Life Time Miami Marathon & Half has become one of the top races on the international circuit.
The Racecourse
Runners participating in the marathon and half marathon start together in Downtown Miami in front of the Kaseya Center, home of the Miami Heat. Runners traverse the MacArthur Causeway past PortMiami to Miami Beach and up Ocean Drive before looping back to Downtown Miami across the scenic Venetian Causeway.
As the half marathoners peel off and race for the finish line at Bayfront Park, the marathoners continue their route south through Brickell, running partway up the Rickenbacker Causeway toward Key Biscayne before continuing into Coconut Grove and then looping back to Bayfront Park in Downtown Miami for the big finish.
Both courses features scenic subtropical vistas and the breathtaking sight of the sun rising over South Beach. The views and experiences are unmatched by any other race.
At the finish line, all runners will be greeted with a specially designed medal and a festive post-race celebration. They’ll also have an opportunity to check their official results and photos that have been snapped along the way. Spectators can track their friends and family running in the race in real time.
Tropical 5K
The Tropical 5K takes place the day before the marathon on January 24. It’s the perfect way to participate in race weekend without committing to all that mileage. The 3.1-mile race starts on Watson Island. Runners dash across the MacArthur Causeway to finish at Nikki Beach at the tip of South Beach followed by a post-race celebration by the ocean.
Kids Run Miami
The Miami Marathon isn’t only for adults. Kids Run Miami is a countywide initiative that invites children in Miami-Dade County schools and youth organizations to establish a consistent running routine for a fit and healthy lifestyle. Schools and teachers encourage students to run 25.2 miles over 16 weeks leading up to race day.
On the day of the Miami Marathon & Half, students then run their final mile on the same course as the adults. It’s a thrilling experience designed to instill children with a lifelong love of fitness. Upon crossing the finish line of their final mile, kids are awarded their own special medals.
