Because They’re Funny Comedy Night

Catch some of the freshest voices in comedy as six rising stars take the stage for a late-night showcase of sharp, high-energy stand-up. This encore performance of the Because They’re Funny Comedy Night brings together finalists from the 2024 Breakout Comedian of the Year competition, originally featured at Washington, D.C.’s Because They’re Funny (BTF) Comedy Festival.

Hosted by comedian and internet personality DC Young Fly, the lineup includes performances by Lamar Jones, Khrissy Y.S.F., Flo Hernandez, Alex Babbit, Sammy Anzer and Miami’s own Mel Mitchell. Expect a fast-paced evening filled with distinct perspectives and laugh-out-loud moments.

Part of the American Black Film Festival event lineup, Because They’re Funny Comedy Night takes place Thursday, June 12 from 9:45 p.m. to midnight at the New World Center.
