Enjoy an evening of classical music featuring virtuoso pianist Kemal Gekic performing one of Beethoven's renowned piano concertos. FIU Orchestral Masterworks Finale: Beethoven's 'Emperor' with Kemal Gekic will take place on Saturday, April 12 at the FIU Wertheim Performing Arts Center.
Under the direction of Javier Jose Mendoza, the FIU Symphony Orchestra presents their closing concert of the season with a program of significant orchestral works. The evening begins with Barber's spirited Overture to The School for Scandal, continues with Shostakovich's 9th Symphony and culminates with Beethoven's majestic Emperor Piano Concerto performed by FIU Artist-in-Residence Kemal Gekic.
Internationally acclaimed pianist Gekic, known for his innovative interpretations and technical brilliance, brings his distinctive artistry to this commanding concerto. His performances have earned worldwide recognition, with appearances alongside major orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic and NHK Symphony Orchestra of Japan.
