Big Bad Voodoo Daddy
Feb 20, 2027
From: 8:00 PM to 9:40 PM
Swing-era rhythms, brassy arrangements and a lively mix of jazz, Dixieland and rock shape a concert by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. The performance takes place Saturday, February 20, on the Main Stage at The Moss Center.
Led by vocalist and guitarist Scotty Morris, the band rose to wider attention through the 1996 film Swingers and became a prominent voice in the late-1990s swing revival. Its horn-driven sound draws on big-band traditions while incorporating contemporary songwriting and an energetic stage presence.
The lineup includes drummer Kurt Sodergren, bassist Dirk Shumaker, saxophonists Andy Rowley and Karl Hunter, trumpeter Glen “The Kid” Marhevka and pianist-arranger Joshua Levy. Together, the musicians revisit more than three decades of recordings and performances rooted in American swing and jazz traditions.
