Oct 24, 2026
weekly on Saturday - Through Nov 07, 2026
Two tours per day: 8 AM to Noon | 1 PM to 5 PM
A guided bus tour traces the people, neighborhoods and institutions that shaped Black Miami across more than a century of local history. Offered Saturdays, October 24, October 31 and November 7, the experience departs from the Teach the Truth Garden at the Center for Black Innovation, with morning and afternoon tours available each date.
Stops and drive-through segments explore historic Coconut Grove and its Bahamian community, Downtown Miami, Liberty Square, Little Haiti and Overtown. Along the way, participants visit or learn about sites including the Charlotte Jane Memorial Cemetery, the historic segregation wall in Coconut Grove, Fort Dallas, the Arthur McDuffie Historic Marker, the Black Police Precinct and Courthouse Museum, the D.A. Dorsey House, Ward Rooming House and the Lyric Theater.
Presented by the Miami Center for Racial Justice, the tour focuses on Black pioneers, entrepreneurs, laborers, activists and institutions whose histories are woven into Miami’s development. Ticket sales support the organization’s work preserving and interpreting Black history.
