Black Room: Aphøtic

A night of hard techno and industrial-leaning intensity takes over downtown Miami as the Black Room series returns with a stacked underground lineup.

Black Room: Aphøtic unfolds Friday, March 13 at The Ground. The 18+ event is presented by The Ground, with doors opening at 11 p.m. Closing time varies per event, and this ticket does not grant access to the Club Space Terrace.

Headlining the night is Dutch producer Aphøtic, one of the key figures shaping the current wave of hard techno that blurs the line between hard dance and industrial textures. He broke through internationally with “Thalassophobia,” a viral 2023 release that became a staple in sets from artists across the global festival circuit and helped define a darker, more abrasive strain of the genre. Known for fusing punishing percussion, distorted elements and high-impact drops, Aphøtic has appeared at major European events including Verknipt Arena, Mysteryland and Defqon.1’s hard techno stage. He also launched Synthesis Records, a label focused on shadowy, Schranz-driven and industrial sounds that extend the aesthetic behind his productions.

The lineup also features Dadrev, Proletar and DomnRob, along with South Florida-based artist Mr. Proper, a co-founder of Hidden Rhythm Society (HRS) and a fixture in Miami’s underground techno community. Known for driving, hypnotic sets rooted in the genre’s raw core, Mr. Proper has appeared at local venues including M2 while helping cultivate the region’s harder-edged scene.

Located on the first floor of the iconic Club Space, The Ground offers an intimate, acoustically focused venue with a flexible capacity of 250 to 555 guests, hosting electronic and live music events in the heart of downtown Miami.
