BLUE Concert: Chamber Masterworks of Eastern Europe
Jan 27, 2026
Starting: 7:00 PM
A collaborative chamber program explores the musical traditions of Eastern Europe, drawing on the folk-inflected rhythms, expressive melodies and lyrical depth of composers from Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary.
Bringing together Fellows from New World Symphony and the Mount Vernon Virtuosi String Quartet in their first-ever collaboration, the concert highlights the enduring influence of Eastern European music on the chamber repertoire. Through tightly woven ensemble playing and evocative musical storytelling, the program traces a cultural landscape shaped by regional identity, movement and emotional intensity.
Presented as part of the NWS BLUE Project, the performance reflects New World Symphony’s commitment to experimentation, leadership development, and artistic collaboration. BLUE, which stands for Build, Learn, Understand and Experiment, pairs performance with hands-on training that supports Fellows as emerging leaders in the field.
BLUE Concert: Chamber Masterworks of Eastern Europe takes place Tuesday, January 27, at the New World Center. Tickets are pay-what-you-wish, with proceeds supporting New World Symphony Fellows.
