Book Talk and Signing: The Quiet Storm by Amani Roberts takes place August 21–22 across two venues, offering audiences an opportunity to explore the cultural legacy of R&B groups from the 1950s to the early 2000s. Drawing on industry knowledge and personal experience, Roberts shares behind-the-scenes stories, historical insights and a critical look at how shifts in technology, culture and industry politics shaped, and sidelined, some of the genre’s most iconic voices.

On Thursday, August 21, Roberts appears at Aloft Miami Aventura from 6 to 9 p.m. for an evening of conversation, networking and complimentary refreshments for early registrants. The series continues Friday, August 22 at Quade Book Store from 7 to 9 p.m., with a more intimate discussion focused on the power, passion and challenges behind R&B’s evolution. Both events invite music lovers to reflect on the past and consider how the genre’s influence might shape the future.
