Born at Midnite

Montreal duo Born At Midnite brings off-kilter pop, post-punk textures and lo-fi electronic experimentation to ZeyZey Miami. The performance takes place Saturday, August 29, with the event running from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. The night pairs the duo’s playful, rough-edged sound with ZeyZey’s open-air setting.

Born At Midnite is the project of visual artist and musician Amery Sandford and producer, songwriter and guitarist David Carriere of TOPS. Formed in 2018, the duo developed a fast, improvisational writing approach using samplers, tape machines and a “finish it or scrap it” process that gives the music its spontaneous feel. Their sound plays with pop conventions while leaning into a handmade, slightly warped aesthetic they describe as “product-placement-punk.”

ZeyZey Miami is an open-air cultural venue and community gathering space with programming that ranges from relaxed daytime events to late-night live music. Guests can expect seasonal cocktails, natural wines and non-alcoholic options, along with food from Tacos María, the Los Félix sister concept serving grass-fed, seed-oil-free tacos.
