Bugtopia

Giant animatronic insects bring a comic-book-style adventure to Zoo Miami with larger-than-life displays, photo stations and hands-on learning activities. Bugtopia runs June 27 through October 31 and is included with zoo admission.

The limited-time walk-through experience features 13 oversized animatronic “superhero” bugs and two themed photo-op stations placed from the zoo entrance through the Conservation Action Center. Each insect display is paired with colorful comic-style panels highlighting insect facts, sound effects and ecological themes for children and adults.

Opening weekend programming takes place Saturday, June 27, and Sunday, June 28, with a live kid-friendly DJ, insect investigation stations and junior entomologist activities. While supplies last, the first 250 guests through the zoo turnstiles each day will receive zoo sunglasses and a voucher for a free kids meal from a local Flanigan’s.

Additional opening weekend activities include bug-themed tastings from bartaco, Tacos & Tattoos and Salt & Straw on Saturday, June 27, along with Super Scents Lab, Spider-Sense activities and microscopic insect explorer stations in and around the Conservation Action Center. Children can also complete activities to earn a junior entomologist certificate.
