Michael Jackson’s pop catalog is reimagined for string quartet in an intimate candlelit setting at Scottish Rite Temple MIA. Candlelight: Tribute to Michael Jackson is offered on select dates from August 15 through February 20, with performances by the Listeso String Quartet under the gentle glow of candlelight. The 60-minute tribute concert is not affiliated with or endorsed by the artist, his estate or official representatives.
The tentative program includes string arrangements of songs spanning Jackson’s solo career and early Motown years, including “I Want You Back,” “Rock With You,” “Human Nature,” “Billie Jean,” “Smooth Criminal,” “Black or White,” “Remember the Time” and “Thriller.” The program also includes “We Are the World,” “Man in the Mirror,” “Heal the World,” “Earth Song” and other selections.
Scheduled performances include:
- Saturday, August 15 at 6:30 p.m.
- Saturday, September 12 at 6:30 p.m.
- Friday, November 20 at 6 p.m.
- Saturday, December 12 at 4 p.m.
- Sunday, January 10 at 6:30 p.m.
- Saturday, February 20 at 6:30 p.m.
The concert is open to ages 8 and older, and guests under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Doors open 60 minutes before showtime, and late entry is not permitted. Seating is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis within each ticket zone. The venue is not accessible.
