Annabelle Lopez Ochoa’s fiery reimagining of Carmen returns to the Adrienne Arsht Center in a production by Miami City Ballet. Blending classical ballet with flamenco influences and Ochoa’s distinctive theatrical style, the work offers a bold new perspective on one of opera’s most iconic heroines.

Set to a vibrant arrangement of Bizet’s celebrated score by Juan Pablo Acosta, the ballet emphasizes Carmen’s agency and power, bringing fresh urgency to her story. With its fusion of passion, movement and music, this staging highlights Ochoa’s reputation as one of today’s most inventive choreographers.

Performances of Carmen take place March 26-28 at the Adrienne Arsht Center. Public ticket sales begin September 19.
