Apr 12, 2026
From: 8:00 PM to 2:00 AM
A UK-based reggae sound system collective brings roots, dub and vinyl-driven sound culture to Wynwood for a late-night session. Channel One Sound System performs Sunday, April 12 at Midline Miami, delivering an immersive experience shaped by deep bass, analog mixing and live vocal interplay.
Founded in London in the late 1970s by brothers Mikey Dread and Jah T, Channel One Sound System is rooted in Jamaican sound system traditions, with a focus on vinyl-only selections and custom-built speaker stacks. Known for their long-standing presence at Notting Hill Carnival and international touring, the group has played a key role in bringing roots and dub reggae to global audiences through a community-centered, high-fidelity listening experience.
Live vocals are provided by Macky Banton, whose MC style is a regular feature of Channel One sessions, adding improvisation and rhythmic call-and-response to the set. The lineup also includes Dignitary Stylish, a UK-based reggae artist and selector whose performances bridge classic roots influences with contemporary sound system culture.
Presented by Miami Riddim and BLNK CNVS, the event offers a club setting focused on traditional sound system performance and reggae’s enduring influence on global music culture.
