Classical mastery comes to life through the hands of a rising talent in an intimate historic setting. The Chopin for All: Angeline Ma concert will take place on Sunday, April 6 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Granada Church in Coral Gables. This performance is part of the CHOPIN for ALL: Season of Winners series celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the National Chopin Piano Competition.
The featured artist, Angeline Ma, earned 4th Prize in the 11th National Chopin Piano Competition. At 22 years old, the Philadelphia-based pianist studies at Northwestern University under James Giles as a Betty van Gorkom Music Scholarship recipient. Her impressive accomplishments include 1st Prize Young Artist at the 2024 MTNA Competition, winning the PianoTexas Concerto Competition and receiving a 2024 Gilmore Festival Fellowship.
Ma's performance experience includes appearances with the Milwaukee Symphony and Fort Worth Symphony orchestras, as well as performances at prestigious venues such as the Polish Embassy and the Kosciuszko Foundation. Her talent has been recognized through features on NPR's "From the Top" and WRTI 90.1, and she has worked with renowned artists including Maria João Pires, Piotr Anderszewski and Dang Thai Son.
This free concert offers open seating on a first-come, first-served basis, though registration is recommended to secure a place. Chopin Foundation members have the option of requesting reserved seating by contacting the foundation directly.
Granada Church provides an ideal venue for this performance with its historic character, serene atmosphere and excellent acoustics that enhance the experience of Chopin's compositions. Complimentary parking is available in the church lot, with additional street parking options nearby.
