A glamorous Miami birthday celebration becomes a murder mystery in a Spanish-language Agatha Christie adaptation created for Miami New Drama. The world premiere runs on select dates at the Colony Theatre in Miami Beach as part of the company’s 2026-2027 season. Written by Karin Valecillos and performed in Spanish with English subtitles, the production invites audiences into a suspenseful story of secrets, ambition and betrayal.
The plot begins with a sudden death that initially appears to be a suicide. One year later, the guests reunite and another body falls, drawing detective Hercule Poirot into a case where every toast, silence and glance may hold a clue.
Miami New Drama describes Cianuro Espumante as the first direct Spanish-language adaptation of an iconic Agatha Christie mystery authorized by the Agatha Christie Estate. Reimagined for Miami, the play blends classic whodunit structure with questions of beauty, power, greed and how well people truly know those closest to them.
